WWII German Soldier Feldpost Patriotic Quote Letter Sheets Set of 3 Hermann Goring

Rare matching set of three original WWII German soldier’s Feldpost folding letter sheets, each printed with a patriotic quotation in large blackletter type with a decorative red initial.

These are unused military correspondence forms designed to be written inside, folded, sealed and mailed through the German Feldpost system. Each reverse is preprinted with “Feldpost,” spaces for the sender and recipient, and the publisher’s information.

The three quotations translate as follows:

1. “Liebe und Dankbarkeit gegen das Vaterland können nur mit dem Tode aufhören.” — Friedrich der Große
   “Love and gratitude toward the fatherland can end only with death.” — Frederick the Great
2. “Die junge Generation muß lernen, Stahl zu werden, um später Stahl schmieden zu können.” — Göring
   “The young generation must learn to become steel so that it may later forge steel.” — Hermann Göring
3. “Deutsch sein heißt: Charakter haben.” — Fichte

The backs are marked Werbe-Verlag Schilder, Breslau 5 and “Nachdruck aus weltanschaulichen Heften verboten,” indicating that reproduction from the ideological booklets was prohibited. The sheets are individually numbered Nr. 1, Nr. 5 and Nr. 12.
