WWII Nazi German Adolf Hitler Third Reich Stamp Lot – 3 Vertical Pairs – 4, 6 & 8 Pf Used

Original WWII German postage stamp grouping consisting of six stamps arranged as three intact vertical pairs from the well-known wartime portrait definitive series.

Included are:

• 4 Pfennig dark blue – vertical pair – Michel Mi. 783

• 6 Pfennig violet – vertical pair – Michel Mi. 785

• 8 Pfennig orange/red – vertical pair – Michel Mi. 786

These denominations belong to the definitive series introduced on August 1, 1941. The 4, 6 and 8 Pfennig values were designed by Professor Richard Klein and printed by the State Printing Works in Berlin using letterpress/typographic printing.

All three pairs are postally used with period cancellations, and importantly the stamps remain joined vertically rather than having been separated into individual examples. The 4 Pfennig issue is especially interesting to specialists because sheet, roll and booklet varieties exist, and attached multiples can help with determining their original format.

Condition: Used/gestempelt with cancellations as shown. Perforations and centering vary slightly. The pairs remain intact. Please examine the enlarged photograph for exact condition and postmark details.

A nice specialized grouping for collectors of Third Reich stamps, WWII German postal history, definitive issues, joined stamp pairs and Michel-number collections.
