Beautiful 15-piece original German document grouping, all connected to Max Stockhorst, born November 30, 1927 in Berlin. This is a particularly interesting grouping because the documents follow Stockhorst from childhood and school through Hitler Youth era and the Third Reich period, his time in Litzmannstadt, the final months of WWII, and into his postwar vocational education.

The grouping contains numerous official stamps, signatures, Third Reich eagles and swastikas, school records, identification material, and occupational documents. Several pieces provide a continuous biographical trail for the same individual.

Documents include:

  1. Deutsche Hauptschule school certificate, 1941/42 – Named to Max Stockhorst and issued at Litzmannstadt. Features a large purple official school stamp with Third Reich eagle and swastika.
  2. Second Deutsche Hauptschule certificate, 1941/42 – Another school report for Stockhorst with handwritten grades, signatures and official eagle/swastika school stamp.
  3. Deutsche Hauptschule certificate, 1942/43 – Litzmannstadt school report dated February 6, 1943, again bearing the official school seal.
  4. Abschlußzeugnis der Deutschen Hauptschule, July 14, 1943 – His school-leaving certificate. Identifies Max Stockhorst as born in Berlin and records his father as Wilhelm Stockhorst. Prominently printed with the Third Reich eagle and swastika and additionally stamped with the school seal.
  5. Kaufmännische Berufs-Fachschule der Stadt Litzmannstadt certificate, February 1944 – Commercial/vocational school report with handwritten grades, signatures and official stamp.
  6. Kaufmännische Berufs-Fachschule certificate, July 1944 – Additional wartime Litzmannstadt commercial-school certificate showing his continued education during WWII.
  7. Hauptschule transfer/registration document dated January 24, 1942 – Records Stockhorst’s movement between Gelsenkirchen and the Hauptschule and bears a purple Litzmannstadt school eagle/swastika stamp.
  8. Temporary photo identification document, May 29, 1945 – An especially interesting piece issued immediately after the end of the war. Includes an original portrait photograph of Max Stockhorst, personal information, residence and occupation, multiple official Pr. Oldendorf stamps, and his signature.
  9. Drogisten-Lehrvertrag apprenticeship contract – Drugstore/pharmacy trade apprenticeship agreement between Max Stockhorst and Herbert Nass, Drogerie, Pr. Oldendorf. The contract was officially recognized/stamped by the Industrie- und Handelskammer in 1946.
  10. Industrie- und Handelskammer Bielefeld provisional examination certificate, 1947 – Records Stockhorst passing his apprenticeship examination as an Einzelhandels-Kaufmann (retail merchant), signed and dated at Bielefeld.
  11. Städtische Handelslehranstalten zu Bielefeld – Drogisten-Fachschule Abschluß-Zeugnis, 1948 – Postwar graduation certificate documenting the continuation and completion of his vocational schooling.
  12. 1937 notarized legal document – Large document headed with a prominent Third Reich eagle and swastika, executed before Justizrat Franz Klaholt in Gelsenkirchen and concerning Stockhorst family/property matters.
  13. 1937 attorney/notary correspondence – Letter from Justizrat F. Klaholt / Dr. jur. H. Klaholt concerning the notarized contract and addressed to Max’s parents, Wilhelm and Elisabeth Stockhorst. Ends with the period “Heil Hitler!” salutation and bears an original signature.
  14. 1943 attorney/notary correspondence to Elisabeth Stockhorst – Gelsenkirchen legal correspondence regarding a property matter, also ending with “Heil Hitler!”, with office stamp and signature.
  15. 1929 Impf-Schein vaccination certificate – Early childhood vaccination document for Max Stockhorst from Gelsenkirchen, providing an unusually early piece of his personal documentary history.

Taken together, this is much more desirable than a random assortment of paperwork. It forms a single-person archive spanning approximately 1929–1948, documenting Max Stockhorst from childhood through Third Reich schooling in Litzmannstadt, wartime commercial education, a 1945 photographic identity document, apprenticeship, and postwar professional schooling.

The 1945 photo ID, multiple Litzmannstadt school documents, large eagle/swastika school-leaving certificate, 1937 notarized document, and the continuity of the grouping are particularly strong features.

Condition:

Original used condition with expected age toning, folds, creasing, stains, edge wear, punched filing holes and occasional tears or losses. Some documents show heavier wear from period handling and storage. The temporary 1945 identification document has significant edge wear but retains the original portrait photograph and official stamps. Please examine all photographs carefully for exact condition.

All 15 documents are being sold together as one historical grouping and should remain together as the personal archive of Max Stockhorst.
