WWII Nazi German Photo Military Funeral Hearse Decorated Soldier KIA Coffin Swastika Flag France

Rare original WWII German photograph showing a military funeral procession with a fallen soldier’s coffin being transported on a hearse or funeral vehicle.

The coffin and vehicle are almost completely covered by an impressive display of funeral flowers and wreaths, while a large swastika flag is prominently draped across the side. A uniformed man can be seen walking alongside the funeral vehicle.

The photograph appears to have been taken in an occupied area, as the storefront behind the procession bears the French-language sign “ACCESSOIRES REPARATIONS.” This provides additional historical interest and shows the funeral procession to have taken place in France or another French-speaking region.

A particularly somber and uncommon wartime photograph documenting the ceremonial funeral of a German serviceman. Military funeral photographs showing the actual hearse, floral tributes, coffin, and prominent Third Reich flag make for compelling historical documents.

Original/authentic WWII-period photograph. Period number “9” is visible in the upper-left corner. Condition is as shown with expected age and handling wear. Please examine the photographs carefully and see ruler for size comparison when provided.
