WWII Nazi German Third Reich Radio Electronics Technical Notes – 6 Pc Deutsche Reichsbahn Train Paper Lot

Interesting 6-piece grouping of original German handwritten radio and electronics technical notes, apparently created by someone studying or working with period radio receiver circuitry. What makes this grouping particularly unusual is that the diagrams were drawn on the backs or unused sides of Deutsche Reichsbahn railway paperwork, including official Dienstgut-Eilfrachtbrief forms.
The group contains detailed hand-drawn electrical schematics executed primarily in black and blue ink with turquoise-green headings and annotations. The material concentrates heavily on vacuum-tube radio receiver technology, detector circuits, tuning and amplification, making this a fascinating combination of German railway ephemera and early radio/electronics history.
Subjects visible throughout the six pieces include “Kurze Welle” (shortwave), “Lange Welle” (longwave), “Detektor m. Rückkopplung” (detector with feedback/regeneration), “Glühkathodenröhre als Detektor u. Verstärker” (heated-cathode vacuum tube as detector and amplifier), and “Verstärkerröhre” (amplifier tube).
Several diagrams illustrate different methods of tuning and detection, with hand-drawn coils, variable capacitors, transformers, detector stages, vacuum tubes, antenna and earth connections, anode circuits and filament/heater supplies. One sheet specifically compares normal wave, shortwave and longwave detector arrangements, while another illustrates shortwave and longwave tuning circuits side by side.
Another particularly attractive sheet shows a vacuum-tube amplifier circuit, complete with the tube, transformer, battery/power supply and associated components. The handwritten material appears instructional in nature, possibly notes prepared while studying radio engineering, communications or electrical technology.
Deutsche Reichsbahn Paper
The reverse sides are equally interesting. They consist of unused or partially cut Deutsche Reichsbahn railway forms prominently headed:
“Deutsche Reichsbahn”
and:
“Dienstgut-Eilfrachtbrief”
which translates approximately as “Official Goods Express Freight Waybill.”
The forms contain spaces for the railcar number, destination station, contents, actual and calculated weight, freight charges, dispatch station stamps, weighing stamps and destination station stamps. The printed forms are marked for dates beginning “193_”, placing the stationery in the prewar/Third Reich period.
The bottom printing includes the form designation 245 02 and references DIN A4, with additional railway regulations printed along the margins.
Rather than allowing the unused railway forms to go to waste, the original owner appears to have repurposed this official Deutsche Reichsbahn stationery as writing and drawing paper for his radio-electronics notes. This gives the grouping considerable character and provides an unusual glimpse into the practical reuse of official paper during the period.
The six pieces belong together as found and cover related technical subjects, making them much more interesting as a complete study grouping than as individual sheets.
Condition
Original used condition with expected age toning, fold lines, handling wear, edge wear, small tears and irregular/cut edges on some pieces. Several sheets were obviously folded during their working life. The handwritten diagrams remain bold and highly legible, with the turquoise-green headings retaining excellent color. The Deutsche Reichsbahn printing on the reverse is also generally crisp and clear. Please see all photographs for the exact condition and contents of the six-piece lot.
A very unusual grouping combining German radio history, vacuum-tube electronics, shortwave technology and Deutsche Reichsbahn railway ephemera in one original period collection.
