WWII Nazi German Third Reich Rose Postcard w Cover Hitler Stamp 1941 NSDAP Coburg

Original WWII-era German floral postcard together with the original envelope in which the postcard was mailed, a nice intact piece of wartime family correspondence and German postal history.

The postcard features a beautiful color illustration of two pink roses with green foliage. The reverse contains a handwritten German message beginning:

“Zur Vermählung die herzlichsten Glückwünsche …”

This translates approximately as:

“For your marriage, the most heartfelt congratulations…”

“Vermählung” is a formal German term for marriage/wedding.

The remaining handwritten message appears to continue with congratulations and is signed by family members. Some portions of the old German handwriting are difficult to decipher with certainty, so please see the detailed photographs of the reverse.

Most importantly, the postcard has remained together with the original envelope that contained it. The envelope is addressed to a family in the Coburg area and retains its original 6 Pfennig purple Deutsches Reich Adolf Hitler definitive stamp.

The stamp is tied by a Coburg postal cancellation, with the date appearing to read 28.3.41 (March 28, 1941). The cancellation also incorporates a period postal slogan.

This is a particularly nice grouping because the postcard and its mailing envelope have survived together for approximately 85 years, preserving the original context of this wartime wedding correspondence rather than being separated as is often the case.

The postcard itself is marked “ELITE 6678” on the reverse.

Condition: Original period-used condition with age toning, spotting, handling wear and minor edge/corner wear. The envelope shows normal postal and storage wear, including a small edge tear near the upper right. Please examine all photographs carefully for exact condition.
