WWII Nazi German Third Reich Waffen-SS Swastika Armband – Red SS Runes

Older vintage reproduction German Waffen-SS-themed armband, featuring a distinctive black swastika design with large red SS runes and the word “WAFFEN” printed twice.

The bold red, black, and white design is printed on off-white cotton fabric with folded and stitched upper and lower edges.

The armband displays noticeable age-related discoloration, fabric creases, and scattered staining.

Historical Background

The Waffen-SS was the military branch of the Nazi SS organization. It developed from early armed SS formations during the 1930s and expanded substantially during World War II.

Its formations included infantry, motorized, armored, cavalry, and other combat units. Waffen-SS divisions served on multiple fronts, particularly in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union.

Although organized as military formations, the Waffen-SS remained institutionally connected to the SS and the Nazi regime. Numerous Waffen-SS units participated in war crimes and atrocities, including crimes against civilians and prisoners of war.

The SS runes became one of the organization’s most recognizable symbols and appeared on various forms of insignia and equipment.

This armband is a collector-made reproduction featuring Waffen-SS symbolism. The exact design has not been verified as a regulation wartime armband.
